If Office 2010 hang at step 4 of the install and you see this error "There was a difficulty setting up Microsoft Office," click the Fix it key to modify your registry, and then re-run Office 2010 setup to solve the problem.

Solution:

1.Click Start, and sort regedit.exe in the Search box. 

2.In the program list, right-click regedit.exe, and after that snap Run as chairman. 

3.Search for (and tap on) this registry passage: 

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders 

4.Look to one side for the AppData line - it will be under the Name section. 

5.Right-click AppData and pick Modify. 

In the Value information box, sort %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming, and after that snap OK.
